  • Discovered by anthropologist Dr. Orville Elliot in 1963 during a study of indigenous peoples. He brought a pair to the United States, and nearly all Telomians outside Malaysia descend from this original pair and a few subsequent imports.
  • Extremely rare with fewer than 100 individuals outside Malaysia. They retain many primitive behaviors including seasonal breeding, den digging, and the unusual ability to use their front paws like hands to manipulate objects.
